Time To Hide Your Wallet

The Indiana Legislature is in session beginning tomorrow and in the words of Mark Twain, "No man's life nor liberty are safe when the Legislature is in session." I couldn't agree more.

I've posted a listing of the Indiana House & Senate members for Hamilton County, over in the Libertarian Party of Hamilton County blog. Link. Later, I'll review all of the bills these scoundrels, er, elected officials have proposed for this year's full session.

I urge my fellow Libertarian bloggers to list and review the proposed legislation that has been proposed by their elected officials. This is where the rubber meets the road.

I would advise everyone to take a look at what's out there, not just your local legislators offerings. There are some truly horrible bills out there this session that could have far reaching consequences for everyone.

It's almost endless for any one person to do. I guess I was suggesting this so that we end up with more or less statewide coverage on all bills. Plus, I think it can be most effective for local Libertarian candidates and county organizations to know what their legislators are doing so as to best be prepared to talk about their liberty-depriving nonsense, and to offer a counterpoint.

For what it's worth, the Hamilton County bunch isn't the worst. Drozda is a good example of the difference between a Republican and a Libertarian. Yes, we have agreement in areas like property rights, but look at what some of his bills mean for individual liberty. Yikes!
