You Tube Video - 'Black Sunday'

Friend and Libertarian candidate Tim Maguire was at the 'Black Sunday' rally, and his comments were recorded. Here's the You Tube video:

(As a total aside and refrain, I'll stomp my feet about New Blogger here. I want to EMBED the video, which New Blogger does not let me do. I can go to 'edit html' all I like, but it simply doesn't not embed the way it used to. The way it used to work was the user clicked an icon, and it embedded. Then they went to 'New Blogger' and erased the tool. Real smart. When you are on You Tube, you can embed directly via Stumbleupon, Reddit, Digg, Furl, and del.icio.us, but NOT Blogger.)

Mike,
I tried it out in my test blogs (with updated and non-updated templates) and didn't have a problem (other than with the size of the movies). I copied the embed .html into the .html window and it coded fine. It doesn't show up in the Compose Window, but it does show up in the preview and the published page. I can't imagine what's causing it from your end. Keep trying, there's no reason for it to not work, unless it's a browser issue.

On the upside...congrats on post 1K!! Outstanding!

Michael- I have used the embed html code provided by You Tube, but for whatever stinking reason, when I copy with a right-click, it doesn't carry the entire embed html code! I can't figure this nonsense.

I tried yet again to embed by posting directly from You Tube. The comment? I need to log in via Google and have a New Blogger account. Well, I am logged in via Google and on a New Blogger account!!! I don't have the time for it, which is why I simply bitch about New Blogger. It sucks. Old Blogger was easier. I work 16 or more hours a day because I have to in order to keep up. I cannot spend more than 5 minutes on a blog post. I've spent close to an hour on this one. This is why I was considering giving up the blog. I have no time for frustrations that do not end up in me getting paid. The property tax issue it too important, so I soldier on- with large grumbles under my breath.

OK, I tried yet again, and here's the error message:

Your HTML cannot be accepted: Closing tag has no matching opening tag: < / object >

I copied the embed code directly from You Tube via right-click, so I don't think I could have messed it up.

Anyone got any ideas for a non-programmer such as myself?

Mike,
for one reason or another Blogger seems to think that the entire embed code is not there. If you see the entire code there the fix should be relatively easy. I've had this code and some similar to it pop up before. When it does pop up there should be a check box right under it it somewhere that you can check to tell blogger to ignore any issue with that bit of code. That's what I've had to do in the past. Click it and publish. As for the right-click issue...you got me there. Have you tried copying it via key commands, after highlighting, instead?

Be sure you click the EDIT HTML tab.

If you get an error message, check the box that allows you to override it.
